DEMOREST, Ga. - The NC Wesleyan College men's basketball team rallied from behind in the second half to defeat West Division foe Piedmont University 79-70 on the road Thursday for their 5th straight win.

The victory improves the Bishops to 9-3 on the season while dropping Piedmont to 5-3.

Each team shot over 50 percent in the first half as the Lions got out to a 40-34 lead at the break. Wesleyan then shot 51 percent in the second half while limiting PU to just 42 percent from the floor and zero threes en route to outscoring them 45-30 in the half.

With 6 minutes to go, the Bishops found themselves down by 10, 54-64. However, they would not be deterred going on a 21-2 run over the next 5 minutes to lead by nine points with a minute to play.

Junior forward Sal-Bey Young led the Bishops with a season-high of 19 points on 9 of 10 shooting to go along with his 9 rebounds, a steal and a block. Fellow junior forward Isaiah Lewis also posted his second consecutive double-double scoring 17 points while bringing down a season-high of 12 rebounds with 3 assists.

Senior wing Damon McDowell also added 15 points with 3 three-pointers while sophomore point guard Khalid Hinds played well posting a season-best 6 assists with 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 8 points. Guards Marquis Eskew and junior Brayden Dixon also added 9 points apiece with Dixon grabbing 3 steals and Eskew's points all coming off the bench.

The Bishops will next enjoy the Christmas break before returning to action in January when they come home to host William Peace on the 5th at 2 PM.
