Bishops Avenge Loss to Pacers 73-67

Rocky Mount, NC - The Battling Bishops men's basketball team defeated William Peace Wednesday night 73-67. The Bishops were led in scoring by senior forward Isaiah Lewis with 17 points, followed by Kyron Kelly who had a massive night with 15 points and 13 rebounds.  

Rebounding was a big key to the game. The Bishops outrebounded the Pacers 45-26 for the contest and held them to 30% from behind the arc. Wesleyan also put stifling pressure on the ball, forcing 17 turnovers for the game. Another key for Wesleyan was free throw shooting, with the Bishops going 12-14 from the charity stripe to clinch the victory.

Two other impact players in the game were Sal-Bey Young and Khalid Chavis-Hinds. Young had 10 rebounds on the night reinforcing the post presence for Wesleyan and Chavis Hinds posted a well balanced stat line of 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Last night's game was also crucial for the USA South regular season race. With the win, Wesleyan now holds a two game lead for first place with 5 games remaining.
