Manley's 26 Points Roll Bishops Past Monarchs 96-74

Rocky Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan men's basketball team defeated Methodist 96-74 Tuesday night. The Bishops improve to 18-4 overall and 10-1 in the conference. Wesleyan was led in scoring by a big night from Austin Manley who had 26 points and shot 7 out of 11 from behind the 3pt line.

His 26 points are also a season-high for the junior from Apex. Manley was the beneficiary on the scoring end of Khalid Chavis-Hinds passing, as he led the Bishops with 5 assists.

After a sluggish start, the Bishops caught fire midway through the first half and never looked back taking a 13-point lead into the break after Manley's buzzer-beater as time expired.

The team shot 62.5% from the floor and 61.1% from behind the arc which is a tremendous night. Isaiah Lewis also had one of his best second halves of the season scoring 13 points and going 6-8 from the floor in the period.

On the defensive end, the Bishops' ball pressure forced Methodist into committing 15 turnovers for the night and also allowed the Bishops to outrebound the Monarchs 31-28.

Wesleyan will be back in action on Saturday when they visit Greensboro at 2 pm.
