Staylor Heads Up League Awards in Women's Soccer

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2012 All-Conference awards for women's soccer with a total of 53 student-athletes being named to the All-Conference teams. North Carolina Wesleyan sophomore Rebecca Staylor headed up a trio of Bishops that earned accolades. Staylor was tabbed a Third Team selection after leading the league in points with 34 this season.

Staylor picked her her second straight Third Team honor after tallying 11 goals and 12 assists this season. She was joined on the All-Conference squad by freshman Sarah Olsowski and sophomore Danielle Hickman as Honorable Mentions at midfielder and defender, respectively. Olsowski notched seven goals and an assist for 14 points this season, while Hickman anchored Wesleyan's defensive efforts.

Elsewhere around the league, Maryville College's Ashley Howarth was named the Player of the Year while her teammate, Sierra Siegel earned Rookie of the Year accolades. Averett University's Carly Pearce collected Coach of the Year honors to round out the individual accolades. Additionally, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school. North Carolina Wesleyan was represented by senior Ashley Marks.
