Rocky Mount, NC- The North Carolina Wesleyan Women's Soccer team hosted William Peace
this Wednesday at Scalf Field. A hard-fought battle saw the Battling Bishops fall by a score of 3-2.
William Peace jumped on the scoreboard within the first minute and half of the match with an
unassisted goal by Kyra Delaney. The Battling Bishops would answer with two goals of their
own with scores coming in the fifteenth minute byEden Whiteside, the freshman from
Jeffersonton, VA, with an assist from Samantha Dell, the freshman from Falls Church, VA and a
score at the twenty-ninth minute with an unassisted goal by Caitlyn Butler, the sophomore from
Remington, VA. This would bring the first half score to 2-1 in favor of the Battling Bishops.
In the second half William Peace would answer with two unanswered goals that would bring the
final score to 3-2.
Bishops Anna Yeakey, the senior goalkeeper from Wake Forest, NC, would see three shots on goal
with two saves; while Jordan Fransee, the senior from Suffolk, VA, would see five shots on goal
with three saves.
