Rocky Mount, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan women's soccer team posted a 3-0 shutout over Warren Wilson College on Sunday afternoon at Scalf Field. Freshman Amanda Mazza anchored a Bishop defense that allowed just one shot on the day, helping her team secure its third shutout victory of the season. NCWC is now 4-2 overall.

Despite out-shooting the Owls 6-0 in the first half, Wesleyan failed to find the back of the net en route to a scoreless tie at the break.

Senior Rebecca Staylor finally broke through for the Bishops at the 54:21 mark when she beat her defender for a shot right of WWC keeper Clare Williams. Staylor went on to tally assists on Hannah Tolson and Logan Bill goals in the 79th and 86th minutes, respectively.

The Bishops out-shot Wilson 14-1 on the day, with Williams making five saves. NCWC keeper Vanessa Batchelor secured her second win of the season in goal.

Wesleyan opens USA South play on Friday afternoon at Scalf Field with a 4:00pm match versus Averett University.
