Olsowski, Bishops Split Pair of Matches at Salem Tourney

Winston-Salem, N.C. - The NCWC women's soccer team split a pair of matches this weekend at Salem College, falling to the host Spirits by a 2-0 score on Saturday before shutting out Wesleyan (Ga.) 3-0 on Sunday.

In Sunday's victory, senior Sarah Olsowski notched her first goal and assist of the season to pace a Bishop offense that dominated 28-0 in shots. Freshman Marissa Aguilar notched her first collegiate score off an assist from Brittanie Hensley in the 14th minute, and Olsowski later assisted on a goal by sophomore Julia Rebellon at the 21:45 mark for a 2-0 lead at the break.

Olsowski went on to net the lone goal of the second half off a Jordan Forbess assist in the 60th minute.

Previously on Saturday, host Salem posted a 2-0 shutout of the Bishops. The Spirits, who held an 11-6 advantage in shots-on-goal, tallied scores in the 19th and 80th minutes en route to the victory. NCWC keepers Vanessa Batchelor (6) and Ashley Major (3) combined for nine saves on the day.

The Bishops (2-2-1) kick off USA South play on Friday at Piedmont College. The match is slated for a 4:00pm start.
