Rebellon's First Career Hat Trick Paces Bishops in Shutout of MBC

Staunton, Va. - Sophomore Julia Rebellon notched her first career hat trick to lead her Bishop women's soccer team to a 10-0 shutout of USA South foe Mary Baldwin on Wednesday. Seven other Bishops tallied scores in the offensive explosion.

Junior Logan Bill was credited with the eventual gamewinner just over seven minutes in when she booted home an assist from freshman Mehli Marcellus. Fifteen minutes later, Maggie Rankin made it 2-0 off a Sarah Olsowski pass, while Rebellon proceeded to tally three of the Bishops next four goals for a 6-0 lead at the break. The first two came in the 38th (unassisted) and 39th (from Jordan Forbess) minutes, and after a Forbess tally at the 40:42 mark, she completed the hat trick with 14 seconds left in the period (from Hannah Tolson).

Shayla Thorne, Ericca Lenhardt, Natalie DePalma and Diamond Ridgeway netted NCW's second half goals, with Thorne's assisted by Brittanie Hensley. The Bishops finished with a 30-1 advantage in shots.

Wesleyan (4-8-1, 2-6 USA South) hosts William Peace University in a key league match-up at Scalf Field this Saturday. The match is slated for a 1:00pm start.
