Lady Bishops fall in Overtime to Methodist

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's soccer team dropped a heartbreaking conference game to rival Methodist University 1-0 in overtime on the road Wednesday evening.

A scoreless draw led to the first overtime where Methodist's Miranda Gay scored in the final minute of overtime. MU outshot the Bishops 13-7 overall and 4-0 in overtime as they squeaked out the win.

NCWC sophomore goalkeeper Alicia Jacobs finished the game making 9 saves on 10 shots on goal while MU's Maggie Hunt made just one save. Junior forward Sarah Cook led with two shots for the Bishops in the defensive game that featured 24 total fouls.

Wesleyan falls to 4-7-1 overall and 2-4 in the USA South while MU improves to 7-6 and 3-3. The Bishops are next in action on Saturday when they play at Pfeiffer University at 2 PM to finish up the conference season.
