ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's soccer team fell 5-1 at home to unbeaten Washington & Lee University (Va.) on Sunday afternoon.

WLU got out to a 2-0 halftime lead while outshooting the Bishops 14-4 in the first half.

Wesleyan then came out strong to start the second half trimming the Generals' lead in half to 2-1 with a goal from junior forward Cydney Nichols off an assist from senior Sarah Cook in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, WLU came right back 3 minutes later to make it 3-1. The Lady Generals then made it 4-1 ten minutes later with the second goal from Sophia Roche to put the game out of reach.

The shot count was just 5-5 in the second half but the Bishops could not find the net as they fall to 1-5 on the year while the Generals improve to 7-0-1.

Wesleyan is back in action next weekend when they host Averett in conference action on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
