ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College Women's Soccer team rolled to a huge 11-1 win over non-conference foe Regent University (Va.) to complete their regular season on Monday at home.

The Bishops got 7 goals in the first half on 23 shots before adding four more in the second half as they outshot the Royals 38-5 and tied the Wesleyan school record with 11 goals that was set in 1993 against Averett.

Junior forward Cydney Nichols led the Bishops with a hat trick of 3 goals and 2 assists for a 8-point day while sophomore midfielders Alyssa Brookhart and Kailey Munro also led the Bishops with two-goal days. Nichols now has a team-leading 12 goals on the season and 2 assists for 26 points on the year. Munro's and Brookhart's two goals apiece were their first of the season and Brookhart's assist on junior Manuela Cano's goal near the end of the first half gave Brookhart a 5-point day as well.

Freshman midfielder Isabel Neall opened the scoring in the 6th minute of action off a Nichols assist before Munro scored off a Naniiya Brown assist in the 17th minute of play. After an unassisted Nichols' goal, Brookhart scored the next two Lady Bishop goals off assists from Nichols and freshman Madison Sullivan before sophomore forward Megan Mackey notched her first goal of the year at the 38-minute mark as Wesleyan took a 7-0 lead at the break.

Nichols opened the second half with her 2nd goal of the game in the 49th minute before Munro added her second goal of the game as well just a minute later off a Sarah Cook assist. Cook then assisted Nichols on her third goal 3 minutes later to make it 10-0.

The teams would trade goals after that with freshman midfielder Mariah Berkovich knocking in the final goal for the Lady Bishops in the 85th minute.

Wesleyan improved to 6-10 on the season with the win while dropping first-year program Regent to 0-9.

The 6th seeded Bishops return to action on Wednesday at 6:00 PM on the road at 3rd seed Meredith College in an USA SOUTH Tournament first round contest. A Win would advance them to a quarterfinal matchup at Covenant on Saturday.
