CAMDEN, N.J. - The NC Wesleyan College women's soccer team pulled out a big 1-0 win in sudden-death overtime on the road over Camden-Rutgers University Sunday afternoon.

Freshman forward Riley Benson scored the game-winner in the third minute of overtime. The winning goal had Benson charging in with the goalie and a defender coming to the top of the box as she shot it and players arrived at the same time causing the ball to deflect and slowly roll across goal line.

The goal was Benson's first of the season while senior goalkeeper Alicia Jacobs had a terrific day saving all nine shots she faced even as the Bishops were outshot 18-9. The nine saves were Jacobs' most of the season. Juniors Isabel Neall and Sophia Sweeney also led with 2 shots apiece.

Wesleyan improves to 2-4 on the season as they gathered a split on the weekend. They will next be in action on Saturday when they head to Winston-Salem for a neutral game with Brevard College at 4:30 pm from Truist Park.
