Dominant First Half Lifts Bishops in Victory

Rocky Mount, NC – The North Carolina Wesleyan University Women's Soccer team hosted Brevard College at Don Scalf Field on Saturday, September 24 and came away with a dominating victory.

Isabel Neall, the senior from Dumfries, VA, put the Bishops on the scoreboard first at the five-minute mark with an unassisted goal. Two minutes later,  Caitlyn Butler, the sophomore from Remington, VA, scored a goal with an assist by Khristel Thompson, the senior from Woodbridge, GA, at the seven-minute mark. Eden Whiteside, the freshman from Jeffersonton, VA, put in the final goal of the match for the Bishops at the sixteenth minute mark that was assisted again by Khristel Thompson

The Bishops would go into halftime carrying a 3-0 lead over the Tornados of Brevard.

The second half did not see any scores until an unassisted goal from Brevard by Emma White with five seconds left in the match to bring the final score to 3-1 in favor of the Battling Bishops.

Battling Bishops Anna Yeakey, the senior goalkeeper from Wake Forest, NC, saw three shots on goal while adding three saves; while Jordan Fransee, the senior goalkeeper from Suffolk, VA, saw six shots on goal while adding three saves and giving up one goal.

The Bishops will travel to Buena Vista, VA, this upcoming Saturday to face Southern Virginia.
