Women’s Soccer Fall at Home to Greensboro 3-1

Rocky Mount, NC – The North Carolina Wesleyan University Women's Soccer team hosted

conference foe Greensboro College this Saturday and was defeated by a score of 3-1.

Greensboro got on the board first in the second minute of the match and scored two more goals

to take a lead going into half 3-0.

The Battling Bishops would score their only goal at the sixty-fifth minute with a score by

Caitlyn Butler, the sophomore from Remington, VA,  with an assist by Vendela Dolsenius, the 

sophomore from Stockholm, Sweden. This would be the final goal of the match by either squad 

ending the match with a final of 3-1 in favor of Greensboro College.

Bishops Anna Yeakey, the senior goalkeeper from Wake Forest, NC, would see three shots on goal 

with zero saves; whileJordan Fransee, the senior goalkeeper from Suffolk, VA, would see three 

shots on goal and three saves.

The Battling Bishops will host the Pacers of William Peace on Wednesday, October 19 at their own 

Scalf Field.
