    The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2013-2014 Academic All-Conference Team, and North Carolina Wesleyan College is pleased to announce that 84 Battling Bishops have garnered recognition, marking the highest total in school history!
  • Athletics Hosts 49th Annual Awards Ceremony

    The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics hosted its 49th Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 23rd, in Minges Auditorium of the Dunn Center. Coaches, staff and student-athletes came together to celebrate the accomplishments of both individuals and teams from the 2013-2014 season.
  • USA South Releases Fall Sport All-Conference Teams

    The USA South has released its fall sport All-Conference teams, with N.C. Wesleyan garnering three selections in men's soccer. Additionally, the league recognized its All-Sportsmanship teams, which saw Bishops from soccer and volleyball honored.
  • Pair of Bishops Earn USA South Weekly Honors

    The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards for November 4th, and two Battling Bishops earned honors in their respective sports. Freshman Travonne Marshall was tabbed the league's Defensive Rookie of the Week in football, while freshman Tori Stewart was named Rookie of the Week in volleyball.
  • Volleyball Wraps Up Season with Sweep of Pacers

    N.C. Wesleyan's volleyball team wrapped up its 2013 season on Sunday afternoon in Everett Gymnasium, hosting a USA South Play Day with Piedmont College and William Peace University. The Battling Bishops suffered a 3-0 loss to the Lions in the first match before rebounding with a 3-0 sweep of their own versus the Pacers. Playing their final match for the Blue & Gold, seniors Taylor Johnson and Heather Hunter paced NCWC with eight kills and nine digs, respectively.
  • Bishops Celebrate Senior Night with Five-Set Victory

    The N.C. Wesleyan volleyball team celebrated Senior Night on Wednesday with a come-from-behind five-set victory over USA South rival Methodist University (18-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-11). Prior to the match, head coach Robin Pietryk and her squad honored the two senior members of their squad: Heather Hunter and Taylor Johnson.
  • Johnson Paces Bishop Volleyball in League Split

    Senior Taylor Johnson turned in a match-high 14 kills and four service aces to help her Battling Bishop volleyball squad to a 3-1 win over Ferrum College on Saturday at William Peace University. The victory came on the heels of a 3-0 loss to Averett University earlier in the day.
  • Wesleyan Volleyball Drops Two at Covenant Play Day

    North Carolina Wesleyan's volleyball team dropped a pair of USA South matches on Saturday at Covenant College. Set scores versus the host Scots were 25-4, 25-14 and 25-21, while set scores against league-leading Maryville were 25-14, 25-18 and 25-17.

    N.C. Wesleyan's volleyball team hosted its 2013 Dig Pink Night on Friday evening as the Battling Bishops welcomed Guilford College to Everett Gymnasium. Wesleyan players and fans sported pink attire and ribbons to show their support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

    North Carolina Wesleyan celebrated its 2013 Homecoming on Saturday, and the day was full of notable highlights. A pair of USA South soccer wins headed the athletics action, while the Department of Athletics annual Hall of Fame inductions capped off a memorable night in Rocky Mount.
  • USAS Announces 50th Anniversary Volleyball Team

    The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of great student-athlete performances, each current league institution was given the opportunity to submit names of student-athletes who competed within the Conference and excelled not only on their campuses, but in the Conference as a whole. The league has continued its recognition of these teams with the sport of volleyball, and N.C. Wesleyan is proud to have placed 12 Bishop players on the squad.

    North Carolina Wesleyan's soccer and volleyball teams were all in action on Wednesday in Fayetteville, dropping at trio of close league matches to the rival Monarchs of Methodist University. Both men's and women's soccer fell by 2-1 scores, while volleyball suffered a tough 3-2 defeat.

    The N.C. Wesleyan volleyball team opened the home portion of its 2013 schedule on Wednesday night in Everett Gym, dropping a tightly-contested 3-1 league match to Meredith College. Set scores were 31-29, 22-25, 25-20 and 25-19. Senior Heather Hunter notched a career-high 12 digs on the night, while freshman sister Evie Hunter tallied a career-high 10 kills.

  • Bishops Honor Local Heroes With 9/11 Passes

    September 11th is a time for remembering our fallen heroes from New York to Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C. It is also a time to recognize those local heroes that risk their lives daily to insure the safety of our Rocky Mount community. For this reason, the student-athletes of North Carolina Wesleyan annually honor our local policemen and firefighters by distributing season passes for all Battling Bishop sporting events.

    N.C. Wesleyan's men's soccer team completed this weekend's athletics action on Sunday afternoon, battling to a 2-2 double overtime tie with Baldwin Wallace College in Virginia Beach. Previously on Saturday, both the men's and women's teams dropped tough 1-0 matches, while volleyball completed day two of the Johns Hopkins Classic.

    N.C. Wesleyan's men's soccer team fell 3-0 to 8th-ranked York College (Pa.) on Sunday afternoon, wrapping up the opening weekend of the 2013-2014 athletics season in the process. NCWC's volleyball and women's soccer previously kicked off their respective slates on Saturday.

    The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2013 fall sport preseason coaches polls for volleyball and soccer. North Carolina Wesleyan's volleyball squad received a 2nd-place billing in the league's North Division, while men's soccer was tabbed 3rd and women's soccer 10th in their respective polls.
