Pleasant Garden, N.C. - North Carolina Wesleyan's cross country squad saw its 2014 season come to an end on Saturday at the USA South Championship Meet held at Hagan Stone Park. Freshman Ariana Paz paced the Bishops with a team-best time of 31:49, while senior Connor Wright finished second with a time of 33:39. Wright's day was highlighted by her being named to the USA South's All-Sportsmanship team.

The 6K event featured 11 league opponents, including meet champion Meredith College which placed three runners in the top-five. The Bishops finished 9th overall, as Ferrum and William Peace failed to qualify for team scores.

Individually, Maryville's Emily Guillaume took home medalist honors with a time of 24:08.

The meet marks the end of Wesleyan's first season since 2010 after garnering reinstatement this past summer.
