(ROCKY MOUNT, NC) - The 2021 USA South Women's Cross Country Championship took place on Saturday, October 30 on the campus of North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Southern Virignia, in its first year within the USA South, captured the championship. The Knights bested second-place Covenant by seven points and third-place Meredith by 14 points. Individually, Piedmont's Val Angel won the meet as she finished the 6,000-meter course first in a time of 23:01.

The Lady Bishops placed 10th out of 15 teams that scored points led by junior Teanna Bellamy's 34th place finish as she finished just shy of honorable mention with a time of 26:34. Following Bellamy was junior Kelsey Hutchison making her season debut with a time of 26:45 to place 37th as she ran a quality race. Freshman Anna Ray then came next for NCWC in 71st place with a time of 29:46. Freshman Mariah Brooks then came in 90th place with a time of 32:08 while also making the sportsmanship team. Sophomore rookie Naomi Pilapil then placed 96th in 33:17 while sophomore Sarah Waters also ran a time of 35:01.

The top-seven runners at the meet were named First Team All-Conference, finishers 8-14 were awarded Second Team All-Conference accolades, finishers 15-21 grabbed Third Team All-Conference accolades and finishers 22-30 were named Honorable Mention All-Conference.
