Fayetteville, N.C.- The USA South has released its weekly awards for September 7th, and N.C. Wesleyan's Malik Adams has been named the league's Special Teams Player of the Week in football.

Adams, a Selma, N.C. junior wide receiver, returned two kickoffs for a total of 109 yards which led to eventual scores by the Bishops in Friday's 20-9 loss to Stevenson. His returns were good for 66 and 43 yards. Additionally, Adams caught four passes for 86 yards on the night.

The USA South's "Football Play of the Week" initiative is also continuing this season. For each of the 11 weeks during the regular season, dynamic plays will be submitted by the coaching staffs of each institution. The winners are chosen by fan voting and will be featured both on the USA South website and its social networking outlets (TwitterYouTube / Instagram).  At the end of the season, each weekly winner will be nominated for USA South Football Play of the Year.

This week, Adams' 66-yard return is among four nominees.
