Battling Bishops Football Fall to Belhaven University

Jackson, MS – The North Carolina Wesleyan Football team traveled to Jackson, Mississippi this Saturday to
play Belhaven University to fall 24-0 to the Blazers.
The start of the first quarter saw the defense for both teams begin the game with a three in out. With forty-
one seconds left to go in the first quarter the Blazers would score an eleven yard touchdown run by Ras Pace.
The second quarter would see the Blazers score on a forty-one-yard touchdown pass by Tim Johnson to
Brooks Brymer which would allow the Blazers to take a 14-0 lead into the half.
In the third quarter the Blazers would add ten more points to take the lead to 24-0 and would finish the game
with the same score.
Bishops Storm Yarbrough , a junior, would lead the Battling Bishops in receptions and receiving yards for a game high
four receptions for fifty-two yards. Sophomore Anthony Byrd for the Bishops would lead the team in rushing with fourteen
rushes for fifty five yards. Bishops Defensive standout, Senior Charles Sias, finished the game with a game leading six total
tackles.
The Battling Bishops will face Methodist University, (1-2) 2-4, at home this coming Saturday October 15th at
6:00pm, the Bishops first night game in their new stadium.
