Pair of Gridiron Bishops Earn USA South Weekly Accolades

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South has released its weekly awards for October 5th with a pair of Battling Bishops earning honors in football. Malik Adams was named Player of the Week, while Trevor Campbell was tabbed Defensive Rookie of the Week.

Football Offensive Player of the Week
Malik Adams, N.C. Wesleyan - The junior wide receiver from Selma, North Carolina set or tied three single-game program records last week in a 45-40 loss to USA South foe Huntingdon. Adams caught 11 passes, which ties the school record, for 208 yards, which sets a new NCWC record. He also tied his own program record with three touchdown receptions. Adams averaged 18.9 yards per catch with a long reception of 56 yards.

Football Defensive Rookie of the Week
Trevor Campbell, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman defensive back from Lakeland, Florida totaled six tackles and grabbed his first career interception in the Huntingdon defeat. Campbell collected five solo tackles and one assisted take down. His interception came in the third quarter and led to a Bishop score.
