ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - NC Wesleyan College Head Football Coach Jeff Filkovski has promoted Offensive Line Coach Matt Keith to the postion of Offensive Coordinator for the upcoming 2022 season.

"Matt has been an integral piece to our offense over the past few years," commented Coach Filkovski. "He deserves the new expanded role as Offensive Coordinator. I know he will do a great job."

Over the past four seasons as Offensive Line coach, Keith has coached eight All-Conference selections, and one All-South Region selection. In 2019, the Bishops finished 6th in NCAA Division III in fewest total sacks allowed, allowing only 7 all year. They also finished atop the USA South Conference in yards per rush.

In 2021, Wesleyan also finished in the top three in the conference in total rushing yards with 1,440 yards and 144 yards/game.

"I am beyond excited about taking this step and continuing to assist in building the strong football tradition here at North Carolina Wesleyan," commented coach Keith.

"Since joining the staff here I have seen the potential of this school and this program and have been thrilled by the steps we have taken forward," he continued. "I'd like to thank Coach Filkovski and Athletic Director Aaron Denton for their guidance over the years and for this opportunity, and my family for their continuous love and support. The foundation has been set and we are chomping at the bit to get to work."

Keith joined the football coaching staff in the summer of 2018. Before becoming a Bishop, Keith spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons as the Offensive Line Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator at Div. III College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn.

An Onsted, Michigan native, Keith previously coached at Beloit College (Wis.) where he was the offensive line coach as well as video coordinator for the program during the 2015 season. In his one season with the Buccaneers he coached an all-conference selection.

Keith graduated from the University of Mount Union (Ohio) in May of 2015 with a degree in Sport Business. He was an offensive lineman for the Raiders for four seasons winning four Ohio Athletic Conference championships, made four NCAA Division III Championship appearances, including winning the 2012 NCAA National title.
