Bishops Seal The Deal Despite Hurricane

Rocky Mount, NC – The North Carolina Wesleyan Football team had to postpone the
Homecoming festivities this weekend and move the game to Friday because of the
Hurricane/Tropical Storm that caused many issues for the Southeast United States this week.
The wind and rain did not stop the Battling Bishops and the offense saw a great rushing attack
that saw 66 rushing attempts for 348 yards. The Battling Bishops defense had a strong
performance and back-to-back weeks that Benyon Williams had an interception.
The first half was dominated by the Battling Bishops with four rushing touchdowns two by
Trevon Crank and two by Anthony Byrd. LaGrange would score on a sixty-five-yard run to bring
the score to 30-6 going into halftime.
The second half would see one more rushing touchdown by Trevon Crank and the Panthers of
LaGrange College scoring on a rushing and passing touchdown drives to bring the final score to
37-22 in favor of the Battling Bishops.
Overall, Trevon Crank would have 3 rushing touchdowns on 33 carries to produce 159 rushing
yards. Anthony Byrd would have 2 rushing touchdowns on 20 carries to produce 136 rushing
yards. The Battling Bishops will travel to Jackson, Mississippi this upcoming Saturday to face
Belhaven at 12:00 pm.
