Football Announces 2023 Schedule

Rocky Mount – Five total home dates and an opening week match-up against an NCAA Tournament opponent headlines the 2023 Bishop's Football Schedule.

Wesleyan will host nationally ranked Randolph-Macon on Saturday, September 2nd to kick off the season. Last season, the Yellow Jackets were an NCAA Tournament team and fell to Deleware Valley 39-32 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

This is the return trip for the Yellow Jackets to Rocky Mount as the two teams also opened their 2022 campaigns against one another.

Wesleyan will then hit the road for the next two contests as they travel to Ferrum and Bridgewater on September 9th and September 16th respectively. The match-up with the Bridgewater Eagles will be part of the USA South and ODAC crossover week between the two leagues.

The Bishops will then return home on September 30th to face Bellhaven in the conference opener. The Blazers finished its 2022 campaign 8-2 and finished second in the USA South last season. Wesleyan will begin the month of October on the road as the Bishops travel to Georgia to take on LaGrange on Saturday, October 7th.

The next two contests feature the Battling Bishops at Vernon T. Bradley Jr. Stadium and the October 14th contest against Greensboro will be Homecoming in Rocky Mount. The game is currently slated as the only night contest of the season at home with a kickoff at 6 pm.

The final stretch of the season includes two out of the last three games on the road at Methodist and Huntington to end the season, and a home contest with Maryville snuck in between. The final home game against the Scots will open up November football for the program on Saturday, November 4th.
