Rocky Mount, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan women's basketball team was back in action over the weekend with a pair of USA South contests versus Mary Baldwin and Ferrum in Everett Gym. The Bishops cruised to a 83-29 win over MBC on Saturday before dropping a 72-43 decision to the Panthers on Sunday. Sophomore Jordan Cager paced NCWC by averaging 16 points and 8.5 rebounds over the two-game span.

Against Baldwin, all five starters reached double-figures as Wesleyan shot nearly 48 percent from the floor as a team. Sophomore Kenyata Harris turned in a stellar performance with 23 points and 20 rebounds, joining two other Bishops with double-doubles. Cager had 17 points and grabbed 12 boards, and freshman Shekinah Huggins tallied 12 points and 12 rebounds of her own.

Sophomore Alexis Fitzgerald and senior NeTaih Davis chipped in 18 and 13 points, respectively.

Unfortunately, Sunday's match-up with Ferrum saw the tables turn on Wesleyan. Ferrum dominated the first half as the Bishops struggled offensively, and although the second half featured a tight 32-31 tally, NCWC could not erase the damage done in the game's first 20 minutes.

Cager netted a team-high 15 points for the Bishops, while Davis added 11. Jacole Hairston led the Panthers with 17 points.

Wesleyan (5-14, 3-11 USA South) returns to action next weekend with a road trip to conference foes Greensboro and Averett.
