Bishops Fall to Monarchs on Road 58-53

Fayetteville, NC - In a hard-fought game, the North Carolina Wesleyan women's basketball team suffered a close loss to the Methodist Monarchs on Tuesday, with a score of 58-53. Despite the loss, the Bishops put up a strong fight, with several key players making impressive contributions.

Corynthian Williams led the team in scoring with 12 points and added 5 rebounds to the contest. Senior forward Kayrisma Harrison also had a strong outing, contributing 8 points and 7 rebounds, helping the Bishops on both ends of the floor.

The Bishops' defense was particularly noteworthy as it has continued to be all season long. The Bishops forced Methodist was forced to commit 15 turnovers and shoot under 40 percent from the field. Wesleyan's ability to disrupt the Monarchs' offense and limit their scoring opportunities was crucial in overcoming an 18-11 first-quarter deficit.

Despite the comeback falling short and winning the 4th quarter by 6, the Bishops still have an impressive record of 16-4, including a 12-4 record in the USA South.
