Women's Basketball Season Ends in Conference Championship at Greensboro

Greensboro, NC - The NC Wesleyan women's basketball team fell to Greensboro College Saturday afternoon by a score of 97-90. After the first quarter trailing by 17, the Bishops never gave up. Wesleyan was able to go on and win 2/3 of the final quarters remaining in the contest and won the 4th quarter by 14 points. The leading scorer on the afternoon for Wesleyan was Nadia Simmons who scored 21 points and 2 rebounds while playing a vital role in the comeback. Areina Harris also contributed an impressive 18 points to the affair while Kayrisma Harrison had 14 points and 8 boards.

Rebounding was a big factor in the game as the Bishops outrebounded Greensboro by 9 and were able to get a lot of second-chance opportunities. The defense also forced the Pride to commit 13 turnovers for the game.

As the women's basketball season comes to an end, this year's team achieved the 4th most wins in program history and the 8th-best season in school history by win/loss percentage. the entire athletic department would like to congratulate Coach Trader and the entire women's basketball program on a terrific season.
