Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Cydney Nichols, N.C. Wesleyan - The Suffolk, Virginia junior guard notched a game-high 20 points off the bench in a 77-63 win over USA South rival Averett in the Bishops' only contest last week. Nichols, who helped lead the Bishops to their best start in 10 years at 7-2, also added three rebounds, three steals and one assist in the victory. This is the second athlete of the week award that Nichols has won in her career with her first coming last season when she scored 26 points in a win over Pfeiffer.

Wesleyan is 3-0 in the East Division of the USA South and will return home on January 4 at 2:00 PM to host Mary Baldwin University.
However, the Bishops are back in action after Christmas when they head to Marietta, Ohio to take on Marietta College in the first round of the Holiday Tournament at 5:00 PM on Dec. 29.
