ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - NC Wesleyan Dual-sport athlete Cydney Nichols was named as the 2019-20 Female Student-Athlete of the year for her stellar seasons in soccer and basketball this season.
On the soccer team in the fall she led the team in scoring with 13 goals for a total of 28 points and was named second team all-conference while helping lead the team to 6 wins and an upset in the first round of the conference tournament.
Then in the winter, on the basketball team, she helped the Bishops to their best season in 20 years with a 19-6 record and 14-2 conference slate. She led the conference in scoring off the bench with 11.2 points/game and 44 percent shooting from the field.
Nichols also had a 4.0 GPA in her most recent semester and has a cumulative 3.5 GPA while majoring in Criminal Justice.
