Cromartie's 19 Lead Bishops To Break The Spirits 77-48

Winston-Salem, NC – The North Carolina Wesleyan University Women's Basketball team traveled to Winston Salem and the Bishops defeated the Spirits of Salem College by a score of 77-48.

The Lady Bishops started the first quarter on fire scoring the first 10 points of the game before the Spirits could get on the scoreboard. Later in the first quarter the Bishops would go on 10-0 run to end the first quarter with a score of 24-4. 

The Bishops would add another 35 points in the second half that proved to be too much for the Spirits. North Carolina Wesleyan would shoot 41% from the floor, have 71 rebounds, added 16 points off turnovers, 46 points in the paint, and 30 points coming off the bench.

Three Bishops scored in double figures as Kaniya Cromartie, the freshman, led the Bishops in scoring with an astounding 19-point night while also adding 7 rebounds. Nadia Simmons, the junior, added an impressive 16 points and 8 rebounds. Karyisma Harrison, the senior forward, excelled on both sides of the court adding her double-double with 14 points and 19 rebounds.

The Bishops stand 7-4 for the season and will next travel to play Southern Virginia University this Saturday at 3:00PM.
