Bishops Get Crucial Road Win At Brevard

Brevard, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan women's basketball team defeated Brevard on Friday night 77-67. The Bishops were led in scoring by Nadia Simmons who had 18 points and Kayrisma Harrison also contributed 13 of her own.

Friday's game marks the 10th USA South conference win for the program and ties the women for second place in the conference. Wesleyan got off to a 6-point advantage to end the first quarter and never looked back.  

Led by Harrison's 11 boards, rebounding was a crucial part of the game with the Bishops outrebounding Pfeiffer 46-29. Wesleyan also got close to 20 offensive rebounds, which is essential to controlling a game. 

On the defensive end, the Bishops closely guarded the perimeter only allowing the Tornados to shoot 2-14 from behind the arc and 14%. 

Other notables from the game included Nyesha Best and Deonna Adams who both put up 10 points for the afternoon.
