    The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2012-2013 Academic All-Conference Team, and North Carolina Wesleyan is pleased to announce that 62 Battling Bishops have garnered recognition.
  • Athletics Hosts 48th Annual Awards Ceremony

    The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics hosted its 48th Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 24th, in the Garner Lobby of the Dunn Center. Coaches, staff and student-athletes came together to celebrate the accomplishments of both individuals and teams from the 2012-2013 season.
  • NCWC Softball Season Ends at USA South Tourney

    North Carolina Wesleyan's softball team saw its 2013 season come to an end on Saturday afternoon at the USA South Conference Softball Tournament in Rocky Mount. The 6th-seeded Bishops rebounded from a 6-1 loss to Christopher Newport in the opener to post a 14-6 victory over Greensboro in the second round. Unfortunately, 5th-seeded Methodist was able to hold on for an 11-9 win in the day's final game, thereby eliminating Wesleyan in the process.
  • Six Bishops Garner League Recognition in Softball

    The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2013 postseason awards for softball, with total of 62 student-athletes being named to the All-Conference teams. Six Battling Bishop players were recognized, led by Third Team selections Paige Pritchett and Jasmine Edgren.
  • Bishops Honor Warley, Sweep Pride to Earn 6th Seed

    North Carolina Wesleyan's softball team celebrated its 2013 Senior Day in style on Sunday afternoon, sweeping Greensboro College by 8-2 and 7-5 scores to secure the 6th seed in next weekend's USA South Conference Tournament. Head Coach John Brackett honored his lone senior, Amanda Warley, prior to the first game, and she delivered with a pair of hits and three RBIs on the day.
  • Bishop Softball Sweeps Baldwin, Splits with Averett

    North Carolina Wesleyan's softball team picked up a trio of much-needed USA South wins over the weekend, sweeping Mary Baldwin College before securing a split with Averett University. Sophomore Kendra Hoes blasted two homeruns to help NCWC to a pair of shutouts of Baldwin on Friday, while senior Amanda Warley delivered a game-winning two-run single to give the Bishops a 7-5 win over Averett on Saturday.
  • Hoes Paces Wesleyan Softball in Split with Guilford

    Sophomore Kendra Hoes drove in a pair of key runs and made a series of big catches to help lead her N.C. Wesleyan softball team to a 4-0 win over Guilford College in game two of Wednesday's non-conference doubleheader at Edge Field. The victory secured a split with the Quakers, who took game one by a 6-3 score.
  • Wesleyan Splits with Maryville, Swept by Ferrum

    The Battling Bishop softball team hosted a pair of USA South twinbills this weekend, splitting a two-game set with Maryville on Friday before suffering a sweep by Ferrum on Saturday. Prior to Saturday's opener, Wesleyan honored 2013 Parent's Day.
  • Softball Takes Two from LaGrange in USA South Play

    Junior Carly Creef went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in game one, while freshman Jasmine Edgren drove home the only run of game two to help North Carolina Wesleyan's softball team earn a pair of USA South wins at LaGrange College on Sunday by 11-1 and 1-0 scores. The sweep helped the Bishops rebound from two losses at Piedmont on Saturday and evens their record at 7-7 on the season, 4-4 in league action.
  • Bishop Softball Splits Pair of League Doubleheaders

    North Carolina Wesleyan's softball team opened up USA South play over the weekend, splitting a pair of league doubleheaders at Meredith College and William Peace University. Paige Pritchett blasted an eventual gamewinning two-run homer in game two of Saturday's twinbill at Meredith, while fellow junior Leanna Fann tossed a one-hit shutout in Sunday's opener versus WPU.
  • NCWC Softball Opens Season with Sweep of Salem

    North Carolina Wesleyan's softball team opened its 2013 season on Thursday afternoon with a two-game sweep of Salem College on the road. Carla Matthews blasted an eventual game-winning two-run homer in top of the seventh of game one, while fellow sophomore Kendra Hoes drove in a trio of runs in the nightcap.
  • Bishops Honor Local Heroes With 9/11 Passes

    September 11th is a time for remembering our fallen heroes from New York to Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C. It is also a time to recognize those local heroes that risk their lives daily to insure the safety of our Rocky Mount community. For this reason, the student-athletes of North Carolina Wesleyan annually honor our local policemen and firefighters by distributing season passes for all Battling Bishop sporting events.
