The Plymouth, N.C. freshman guard helped the Bishops to a 2-0 record last week by averaging 7.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals per contest.

    The men's basketball team of N.C. Wesleyan swept a pair of USA South games over the weekend, downing Huntingdon by a 92-63 score on Saturday and knocking off LaGrange by an 83-73 tally on Sunday. Junior Shannon Huff paced the Bishops with back-to-back double-doubles, averaging over 14 points and 10 rebounds per contest.

Freshman Kaimonne Douglas was named Rookie of the Week in men's basketball, while freshman KeChae Parker picked up the same recognition on the women's side. These are the first such awards for Douglas and Parker this season.

    The men's basketball team of North Carolina Wesleyan hosted its annual Roger Taylor Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, November 29th and 30th. The host Bishops went 1-1 at the two-day event, as did the Wolverines of Wesley College. Greensboro College went undefeated in the tourney by earning victories over Wesley and Maryland Bible College, respectively.

    The N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball team held on for a 57-54 win over the University of Mary Washington on Tuesday night in Everett Gym. The Bishops, who led by as many as 18 in the second half, survived a furious UMW rally down the stretch that saw the Eagles get off a pair of three-point attempts in the final four seconds. Both fell short, securing the victory and leaving Wesleyan with a 3-1 mark on the season.

    The men's basketball team of N.C. Wesleyan officially tipped off its 2014-2015 season on Tuesday night, traveling to Mid-Atlantic Christian University for non-conference match-up with the Mustangs. The Bishops opened up a 12-point lead at the break and went on to shoot nearly 60 percent from the floor in the second half en route to a 79-51 victory.

    The North Carolina Wesleyan men's basketball squad tipped off its 2014-2015 season on Friday night in Greenville, dropping a hard-fought exhibition at Division I East Carolina University by a 99-81 score. Led by a career-high 25 points from sophomore Eric Dortch-Jones, the Battling Bishops out-scored the Pirates 54-51 in the second half to quiet an ECU crowd in excess of 5,000.

    The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics and head men's basketball coach John Thompson are pleased to announce the hiring of Nigel Thomas as the Battling Bishops' assistant hoops coach. Thomas replaces long-time assistant David Doino, who recently accepted a head coaching position at Averett University.
