Moore Named USA South MBB Rookie of the Week
January 26, 2015The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly basketball awards for January 26th, and North Carolina Wesleyan's Adrian Moore has been named the league's Rookie of the Week. The Plymouth, N.C. freshman guard helped the Bishops to a 2-0 record last week by averaging 7.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals per contest.

Bishops Sweep USA South Weekend Hoops Action
January 25, 2015The men's basketball team of N.C. Wesleyan swept a pair of USA South games over the weekend, downing Huntingdon by a 92-63 score on Saturday and knocking off LaGrange by an 83-73 tally on Sunday. Junior Shannon Huff paced the Bishops with back-to-back double-doubles, averaging over 14 points and 10 rebounds per contest.

January 17, 2015Freshman Adrian Moore turned in a stellar all-around performance on Saturday afternoon, helping his Battling Bishop men's basketball team secure a 68-66 win at USA South foe Maryville College. Moore netted a game high 16 points to go along with nine rebounds, six assists and five steals.

Bishops Host Taylor Appreciation Event, Defeat Lions
January 03, 2015The North Carolina Wesleyan men's basketball team opened up USA South play on Saturday afternoon with a 73-65 win over Piedmont College in the league opener for both squads. At halftime, Wesleyan honored former Battling Bishop standout Roger Taylor, whose retired jersey #44 was officially unveiled in Everett Gymnasium.

December 28, 2014N.C. Wesleyan returned to men's hoops action on Sunday with a tightly-contested match-up at Division I North Carolina A&T University. The Bishops dropped the game by a 58-54 score and now stand at 6-4 overall. All four of Wesleyan's losses have come by five points or less this season.

After trailing by 21 points at the break, Wesleyan used a valiant second half effort to get as close as three points down the stretch, but the Bishops' comeback bid fell just short in the five-point defeat.

Pair of Bishops Earn USA South Weekly Honors
December 08, 2014The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards for December 8th with a pair of Battling Bishops earning honors in their respective sports. Freshman Kaimonne Douglas was named Rookie of the Week in men's basketball, while freshman KeChae Parker picked up the same recognition on the women's side. These are the first such awards for Douglas and Parker this season.

Bishops Split Pair at Annual Roger Taylor Invitational
November 30, 2014The men's basketball team of North Carolina Wesleyan hosted its annual Roger Taylor Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, November 29th and 30th. The host Bishops went 1-1 at the two-day event, as did the Wolverines of Wesley College. Greensboro College went undefeated in the tourney by earning victories over Wesley and Maryland Bible College, respectively.

Bishops Hold On for 57-54 Win over Mary Washington
November 25, 2014The N.C. Wesleyan men's basketball team held on for a 57-54 win over the University of Mary Washington on Tuesday night in Everett Gym. The Bishops, who led by as many as 18 in the second half, survived a furious UMW rally down the stretch that saw the Eagles get off a pair of three-point attempts in the final four seconds. Both fell short, securing the victory and leaving Wesleyan with a 3-1 mark on the season.

Wesleyan's victory came on the heels of a 59-56 loss to Hampden-Sydney on Friday, leaving the Bishops with a 2-1 overall mark.

Wesleyan Men Dominate Opener at MACU, 79-51
November 18, 2014The men's basketball team of N.C. Wesleyan officially tipped off its 2014-2015 season on Tuesday night, traveling to Mid-Atlantic Christian University for non-conference match-up with the Mustangs. The Bishops opened up a 12-point lead at the break and went on to shoot nearly 60 percent from the floor in the second half en route to a 79-51 victory.

Bishops Tip-Off Hoops Season with Exhibition at ECU
November 14, 2014The North Carolina Wesleyan men's basketball squad tipped off its 2014-2015 season on Friday night in Greenville, dropping a hard-fought exhibition at Division I East Carolina University by a 99-81 score. Led by a career-high 25 points from sophomore Eric Dortch-Jones, the Battling Bishops out-scored the Pirates 54-51 in the second half to quiet an ECU crowd in excess of 5,000.

October 15, 2014The USA South Athletic Conference has released its preseason coaches polls for men's and women's basketball. North Carolina Wesleyan's men received a 4th-place billing among 11 league institutions, while the Bishop women were tabbed 8th in their respective poll.

Bishops Announce Thomas as Assistant Hoops Coach
September 04, 2014The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics and head men's basketball coach John Thompson are pleased to announce the hiring of Nigel Thomas as the Battling Bishops' assistant hoops coach. Thomas replaces long-time assistant David Doino, who recently accepted a head coaching position at Averett University.
