USA South Releases Academic All-Conference Team
June 01, 2012The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2011-2012 Academic All-Conference Team, and North Carolina Wesleyan is pleased to announce that 58 Battling Bishops have garnered recognition. -
Athletics Hosts 47th Annual Awards Ceremony
April 17, 2012The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics hosted its 47th Annual Awards Ceremony on Monday, April 16th, in the Garner Lobby of the Dunn Center. Coaches, staff and student-athletes came together to celebrate the accomplishments of both individuals and teams from the 2011-2012 season. Among those athletes and teams, NCWC boasted 50 USA South All-Conference selections, three USA South Championships, two Players of the Year, one Coach of the Year and one NCAA tournament berth. Highlighting the night’s winners were the honors given for the Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year, along with the Male and Female Athlete of the Year.

Bishop Athletes Support Worthy Initiatives This Fall
December 01, 2011The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics has highlighted a variety of community service projects that our Battling Bishops undertook this fall. In addition to the department's yearly 9/11 initiative, Cans Across the Conference and elementary reading programs, several teams participated in unique projects that surely benefited our student-athletes.

USA South Releases Football All-Conference Awards
November 16, 2011The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2011 All-Conference awards for football with a total of 94 student-athletes earning postseason honors. North Carolina Wesleyan had three players garner First Team recognition, led by sophomore linebacker Tazmon Foster who was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year.

Foster Breaks Tackles Record, Bishops Honor Seniors
November 12, 2011In just his 20th career game, sophomore linebacker Tazmon Foster broke North Carolina Wesleyan's career tackles record with the 217th of his career in the first half, but it would not be enough as the Bishops saw their 2011 season come to an end with a 28-7 loss to visiting Shenandoah University.

Football Drops 24-10 League Decision at Methodist
November 05, 2011The Monarchs of Methodist University took a 10-0 lead into the half and scored a pair of late touchdowns to secure a 24-10 victory over North Carolina Wesleyan in Saturday's USA South football action in Fayetteville.

Pair of Bishop Athletes Earn Weekly Recognition
October 31, 2011Two Battling Bishop student-athletes have earned weekly recognition in their respective sports. Sophomore linebacker Tazmon Foster was named to his second BSN National Team of the Week in football, while junior middle hitter Anna Hart grabbed her first-ever USA South Player of the Week award in volleyball.

Foster's Record-Breaking Day Not Enough in Loss
October 29, 2011Sophomore Tazmon Foster turned in a North Carolina Wesleyan single-game record with 21 tackles on Saturday afternoon, but it would not be enough as the Blue & Gold football team dropped a heartbreaking 23-16 Homecoming decision to Maryville.

Trio of Bishops Earn USA South Weekly Awards
October 25, 2011The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards for October 24th, and three Battling Bishops earned accolades in their respective sports. Dwayne Hollis was tabbed football's Special Teams Player of the Week, while Alberto Faisca of men's soccer was named Defensive Player of the Week. On the women's side, freshman Rebecca Staylor picked up her second Rookie of the Week award in women's soccer.
