    The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2012-2013 Academic All-Conference Team, and North Carolina Wesleyan is pleased to announce that 62 Battling Bishops have garnered recognition.

    The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics hosted its 48th Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 24th, in the Garner Lobby of the Dunn Center. Coaches, staff and student-athletes came together to celebrate the accomplishments of both individuals and teams from the 2012-2013 season.

    The USA South Athletic Conference held its 2013 Spring Festival Awards Banquet on Friday night, April 12th, on the campus of North Carolina Wesleyan College. In women's lacrosse, Bishop freshman Tiffany Ramos was awarded her team's All-Sportsmanship Award!
  • Bishop Lax Season Comes to an End Versus CNU

    North Carolina Wesleyan's 2013 lacrosse season came to an end on Wednesday afternoon with a 26-1 loss to nationally-ranked Christopher Newport. Haley Hopkins tallied the Bishops' lone score, while fellow freshman Marissa Santos made four stops in goal.
  • Marks Tallies Trio of Goals on Lacrosse Senior Day

    Senior Ashley Marks managed a trio of goals on Saturday afternoon, but her Battling Bishops would again come up short, falling to LaGrange College by a 15-7 score at Scalf Field. Marks, who currently leads the team with 16 goals on the season, was honored prior to the match as the team's lone senior.
  • Wright's Seven Goals Not Enough in 20-13 Lax Defeat

    Sophomore Connor Wright tallied a career-high seven goals, but it would not be enough as her N.C. Wesleyan lacrosse teamed suffered a 20-13 defeat at the hands of Huntingdon College on Tuesday afternoon at Scalf Field. Wright's seven goals are the second highest single-match total in program history.
  • Second Half Surge Lifts Scotties Past Bishops, 12-6

    In Sunday's USA South lacrosse action, Agnes Scott used a 7-0 run to start the second half to pull away for a 12-6 win over North Carolina Wesleyan.
  • N.C. Wesleyan and Methodist Lax Play 4 Seton Hill

    North Carolina Wesleyan and Methodist University joined a national movement in the lacrosse community on Wednesday afternoon by joining together to Play 4 Seton Hill, whose team lost its head coach, Kristina Quigley, on March 16th in a tragic bus accident. The Bishops and Monarchs paused for a moment prior to their USA South match to show their support for the Griffins.

  • NCWC Lax Opens USA South Play at Meredith

    In Wednesday's lacrosse action, N.C. Wesleyan opened USA South play on the road at Meredith College, falling by a 17-3 score in Raleigh. Senior Ashley Marks tallied two of Wesleyan's scores, while freshman Haley Hopkins notched one goal and an assist.
  • Bishop Lacrosse Drops Heartbreaker to Hollins, 8-6

    North Carolina Wesleyan's lacrosse team dropped a heartbreaking 8-6 decision to Hollins University on Sunday afternoon at Scalf Field. With the score knotted at 6-6 with 15 minutes remaining, Hollins tallied the final two goals of the match to erase the tie and steal the victory.

    The N.C. Wesleyan women's lacrosse team dropped its 2013 season opener on Thursday afternoon, falling to St. Andrews University by a 21-4 tally at Scalf Field. The Bishops rebounded from a shaky start to battle the Knights to a 4-3 score in the second half. Senior Ashley Marks paced NCWC with a pair of goals.
  • Miller to Head Bishop Lacrosse, Averett Joins ATC Staff

    The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics has announced two additions to its staff. Emily Miller has been selected as the next head coach for the Battling Bishops’ lacrosse program, while Ryan Averett has joined Wesleyan’s Sports Medicine staff.
  • Bishops Honor Local Heroes With 9/11 Passes

    September 11th is a time for remembering our fallen heroes from New York to Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C. It is also a time to recognize those local heroes that risk their lives daily to insure the safety of our Rocky Mount community. For this reason, the student-athletes of North Carolina Wesleyan annually honor our local policemen and firefighters by distributing season passes for all Battling Bishop sporting events.
