    The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics hosted its 48th Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 24th, in the Garner Lobby of the Dunn Center. Coaches, staff and student-athletes came together to celebrate the accomplishments of both individuals and teams from the 2012-2013 season.

    The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2012 All-Conference awards for men's soccer with a total of 45 student-athletes being named to the All-Conference teams. North Carolina Wesleyan had five athletes earn recognition, highlighted by freshman Andri Bjarnason being tabbed the league's Rookie of the Year.
  • NCWC Soccer Season Ends in USAS First Round

    The men's soccer team of North Carolina Wesleyan saw its 2012 season come to an end on Saturday afternoon in the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament. Facing off against Greensboro College, the 4th-seeded Bishops and 5th-seeded Pride fought to a 0-0 double overtime draw, but GC advanced to semifinal play in Martinsville, Va. thanks to a 5-3 edge in penalty kicks.
  • Soccer, Volleyball Drop Trio of League Matches

    The men's and women's soccer teams of North Carolina Wesleyan dropped a pair of USA South matches to Methodist University on Wednesday, while the Battling Bishop volleyball team suffered a 3-0 sweep at the hands of Christopher Newport later in the evening.
  • Clarke, Broich Lead NCWC to 1-0 Shutout at Maryville

    In USA South men's soccer action, North Carolina Wesleyan turned in a 1-0 shutout of Maryville College on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Alambi Clarke netted the only goal of the contest, unassisted, in the 77th minute. Freshman keeper Fabian Broich did the rest in goal, tallying a pair of saves en route to his first shutout.

    Christopher Newport scored a trio of second half goals en route to a 3-1 USA South win over North Carolina Wesleyan on Wednesday night in Newport News. The CNU victory leaves the two squads tied atop the league standings with 4-1-1 conference records.

    Senior Christian Boakye tallied a hat trick on Sunday afternoon, leading his Battling Bishop men's soccer team to a 5-0 shutout of LaGrange College in USA South play. The win came on the heels of a 3-3 tie versus Piedmont on Saturday to complete a 1-0-1 weekend at Scalf Field.

A pair of USA South soccer wins coupled with Commissioner Rita Wiggs' halftime presentation at the Bishops' football game made for an exciting day, while the Department of Athletics annual Hall of Fame inductions capped off a memorable night in Rocky Mount.

    The second match-up between University of Mary Washington men's soccer coach Jason Kilby and his former assistant Frankie Taal proved to be an eventful one. Kilby's Eagles fought back from an early two goal deficit to earn a 3-2 overtime victory over N.C. Wesleyan on Wednesday afternoon at the Battleground.

    North Carolina Wesleyan scored a trio of second half goals en route to a 3-1 men's soccer victory at Averett University on Saturday afternoon. The win opened up USA South play for the Bishops, who remain undefeated on the season at 5-0-1 overall, 1-0 in conference action.
  • NCWC Men's Soccer Downs Cairn on the Road, 2-1

    The men's soccer team of North Carolina Wesleyan opened up a 2-0 lead at the half and held on for a 2-1 victory at Cairn University on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore keeper Nathan Mangione picked up his fourth win of the season for the Bishops, who now stand at 4-0-1 on the season.
  • Bishops Honor Local Heroes With 9/11 Passes

    September 11th is a time for remembering our fallen heroes from New York to Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C. It is also a time to recognize those local heroes that risk their lives daily to insure the safety of our Rocky Mount community. For this reason, the student-athletes of North Carolina Wesleyan annually honor our local policemen and firefighters by distributing season passes for all Battling Bishop sporting events.

    Senior Christian Boakye and sophomore Isai Gonzalez each netted goals to help their N.C. Wesleyan men's soccer team to a 2-1 road win at Randolph College on Wednesday. With the victory, the Battling Bishops remain undefeated on the season at 3-0-1 overall.

    Freshman Andri Bjarnason and sophomore Alambi Clarke each netted a pair of scores on Sunday to lead their N.C. Wesleyan men's soccer team to a 5-3 victory over Sewanee in the final match of the Methodist Fall Classic. The Bishops had previously opened play on Saturday with a 2-2 double overtime time draw with Birmingham Southern.

    The men's soccer team of North Carolina Wesleyan opened its 2012 season on Wednesday afternoon, turning in a 2-1 victory over Guilford College at Scalf Field. Freshman Andri Bjarnason assisted on both goals, while getting off five shots-on-goal of his own.

    The USA South Athletic Conference has released is 2012 fall sport preseason coaches polls for volleyball and soccer. North Carolina Wesleyan received 4th-place billings in volleyball and men's soccer, while women's soccer was tabbed 10th.
