    The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2011-2012 Academic All-Conference Team, and North Carolina Wesleyan is pleased to announce that 58 Battling Bishops have garnered recognition.

  • Athletics Hosts 47th Annual Awards Ceremony

    The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics hosted its 47th Annual Awards Ceremony on Monday, April 16th, in the Garner Lobby of the Dunn Center. Coaches, staff and student-athletes came together to celebrate the accomplishments of both individuals and teams from the 2011-2012 season. Among those athletes and teams, NCWC boasted 50 USA South All-Conference selections, three USA South Championships, two Players of the Year, one Coach of the Year and one NCAA tournament berth. Highlighting the night’s winners were the honors given for the Male and Female Student-Athlete of the Year, along with the Male and Female Athlete of the Year.
  • Jamieson Named USA South Honorable Mention

    The USA South has announced its postseason awards for lacrosse with a total of 44 student-athletes being named to the 2012 All-Conference teams. North Carolina Wesleyan had a pair of players earn recognition, led by senior Courtney Jamieson's Honorable Mention in the midfield.
  • Marks Paces Bishops with Pair of Goals in Finale

    Junior Ashley Marks scored a pair of goals and collected three ground balls as North Carolina Wesleyan wrapped up its 2012 lacrosse season versus Methodist University on Wednesday afternoon at Scalf Field. The Bishops dropped the contest by a 16-4 score and said farewell to seniors Lakwanua Hicks, Courtney Jamieson and Sacejewia Evans, who played the final games of their careers.
  • NCWC Drops Pair of Lax Contests on the Road

    In this week's lacrosse action, the Battling Bishops dropped a pair of road contests. On Thursday, Wesleyan suffered a 20-0 defeat at the hands of USA South foe Greensboro, while on Saturday, the Bishops fell 18-2 at Division II Catawba.

    North Carolina Wesleyan's lacrosse squad fell to Randolph College on Sunday afternoon by a 19-4 score at Scalf Field. Head Coach Ramona Walters honored her 2012 Senior Class prior to the match as Lakwanua Hicks, Courtney Jamieson and Sacejewia Evans were recognized.

    In Saturday's USA South lacrosse action, Shenandoah University picked up a 17-2 victory over North Carolina Wesleyan at Scalf Field.

    Millsaps College forged a 12-1 lead at the half and went on to secure a 17-5 non-conference lacrosse victory over host North Carolina Wesleyan on Wednesday afternoon at Scalf Field.

    The Battling Bishop lacrosse squad dropped a heartbreaking 8-7 decision at LaGrange College on Saturday afternoon, which was followed by a 14-3 defeat at the hands at Agnes Scott on Sunday. Freshman Krissy Brannon led Wesleyan's offense with a trio of goals over the two-game span.

In addition to the department's yearly 9/11 initiative, Cans Across the Conference and elementary reading programs, several teams participated in unique projects that surely benefited our student-athletes.
