    The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics hosted its 49th Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 23rd, in Minges Auditorium of the Dunn Center. Coaches, staff and student-athletes came together to celebrate the accomplishments of both individuals and teams from the 2013-2014 season.
  • USA South Releases Fall Sport All-Conference Teams

    The USA South has released its fall sport All-Conference teams, with N.C. Wesleyan garnering three selections in men's soccer. Additionally, the league recognized its All-Sportsmanship teams, which saw Bishops from soccer and volleyball honored.

    The North Carolina Wesleyan women’s soccer team hosted a pair of USA South matches this weekend at Scalf Field, fighting to a 0-0 double overtime draw with Huntingdon College on Saturday before dropping a 2-0 decision to LaGrange College on Sunday. Prior to Sunday’s match, head coach Beverly Biancur honored her three seniors: Chelsea Laurens, Laine Hicks and Tori Jones.
  • Gold is Golden on Think Pink Day, Bishops Win 1-0

    The Battling Bishop women's soccer team turned in an exciting finish on Think Pink Day at Scalf Field, as junior Jade Gold netted the Golden Goal in the second overtime to give Wesleyan a 1-0 victory over William Peace University in USA South play.
  • USA South Releases 50-Year Women's Soccer Team

    The 2013-14 season serves as the 50th for the USA South Athletic Conference. In an effort to relive 50 Years of great student-athlete performances, each current league institution was given the opportunity to submit names of student-athletes who competed within the Conference and excelled not only on their campuses, but in the Conference as a whole. The league has continued its recognition of these teams with the sport of women's soccer, and N.C. Wesleyan is proud to have placed 22 Bishop players on the squad.

    The North Carolina Wesleyan women’s soccer team dropped two USA South matches this weekend, falling 2-0 to Piedmont College on Friday and 1-0 to Covenant College on Saturday. Wesleyan held two of the top four teams in the league to just three total goals, but the Bishops were unable to generate any offense of their own en route to the pair of tough losses.

Wesleyan women's soccer securing its second honoree of the season in the form of freshman midfielder Carolyn Finney. The Norfolk, Virginia native helped the Bishops to a 1-1 record last week en route to Rookie of the Week accolades.

    The N.C. Wesleyan women's soccer team turned in 2-1 win over Hollins University on Saturday afternoon, evening their record at 3-3 on the season. Freshman LeAnnza Ussery tallied the Bishops' first goal just 37 seconds into the second half, while sophomore Nicole Liette netted the eventual game-winner in the 63rd minute.
  • Bishops Honor Local Heroes With 9/11 Passes

    September 11th is a time for remembering our fallen heroes from New York to Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C. It is also a time to recognize those local heroes that risk their lives daily to insure the safety of our Rocky Mount community. For this reason, the student-athletes of North Carolina Wesleyan annually honor our local policemen and firefighters by distributing season passes for all Battling Bishop sporting events.

    Freshman Abby Pawley netted her first two career goals on Saturday afternoon, helping her Battling Bishop women's soccer team to a 5-2 road win at Warren Wilson College. Pawley's scores sandwiched scored by Chelsea Laurens, Sarah Olsowski and Nicole Liette, who also added two assists on the day.

    The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards for September 9th, with N.C. Wesleyan securing its first honoree of the season in the form of sophomore goalkeeper Haley Hopkins of women's soccer. The Stow, Ohio native posted a 1-1 record last week and secured the Bishops' first win of the season.

    N.C. Wesleyan's men's soccer team completed this weekend's athletics action on Sunday afternoon, battling to a 2-2 double overtime tie with Baldwin Wallace College in Virginia Beach. Previously on Saturday, both the men's and women's teams dropped tough 1-0 matches, while volleyball completed day two of the Johns Hopkins Classic.

    The Battling Bishop women's soccer team earned its first win of the 2013 season on Wednesday evening, holding on for a 1-0 road victory over the Wildcats of Randolph College. Junior Jade Gold scored the lone goal of the match on an assist from senior Chelsea Laurens, while sophomore keeper Haley Hopkins secured her first shutout with five saves on the day.

    The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2013 fall sport preseason coaches polls for volleyball and soccer. North Carolina Wesleyan's volleyball squad received a 2nd-place billing in the league's North Division, while men's soccer was tabbed 3rd and women's soccer 10th in their respective polls.
  • Bishops Introduce New Athletics Staff Members

    The N.C. Wesleyan Department of Athletics officially kicked off the 2013-2014 season on Monday and Tuesday with its first staff meetings of the new year. In addition to the football hirings announced in late July, a number of new staffers were officially introduced as Battling Bishops.
