    The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2012-2013 Academic All-Conference Team, and North Carolina Wesleyan is pleased to announce that 62 Battling Bishops have garnered recognition.

    The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics hosted its 48th Annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 24th, in the Garner Lobby of the Dunn Center. Coaches, staff and student-athletes came together to celebrate the accomplishments of both individuals and teams from the 2012-2013 season.
  • Staylor Heads Up League Awards in Women's Soccer

    The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2012 All-Conference awards for women's soccer with a total of 53 student-athletes being named to the All-Conference teams. North Carolina Wesleyan sophomore Rebecca Staylor headed up a trio of Bishops that earned accolades. Staylor was tabbed a Third Team selection after leading the league in points with 34 this season.
  • Soccer, Volleyball Drop Trio of League Matches

    The men's and women's soccer teams of North Carolina Wesleyan dropped a pair of USA South matches to Methodist University on Wednesday, while the Battling Bishop volleyball team suffered a 3-0 sweep at the hands of Christopher Newport later in the evening.
  • Battling Bishop Women Fall at Maryville and Ferrum

    The Battling Bishop women's soccer team suffered a pair of USA South losses over the weekend, falling at Maryville College by a 3-0 score on Saturday before dropping a 1-0 decision at Ferrum on Sunday. Wesleyan is now 6-9-1 overall, 3-7 in conference play.
  • Olsowski Tabbed USA South Rookie of the Week

    The USA South Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards for October 15th, and North Carolina Wesleyan's Sarah Olsowski was tabbed Rookie of the Week in women's soccer. This is Olsowski's first honor of the season.
  • Brooks' Heroics Give Bishops 3-2 Win on Senior Day

    Sophomore Dori Brooks' Golden Goal in the 100th minute gave her N.C. Wesleyan women's soccer team a 3-2 league victory over LaGrange College on Sunday afternoon at Scalf Field. Prior to the match, head coach Beverly Biancur and her squad honored seniors Ashley Marks and Lakwanua Hicks, who were thrilled to get a win in their final home match.
  • Bishops Down Hollins on Think Pink Day, 4-2

    On Think Pink Day at Scalf Field, the North Carolina Wesleyan women's soccer team picked up a 4-2 non-conference victory over Hollins University. Four different Bishops tallied goals in the win, which leaves NCWC with a 5-6-1 overall record.
  • Women's Soccer & Volleyball to Support Pink Projects

    October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and our North Carolina Wesleyan women's soccer and volleyball teams are doing their parts to support this worthy cause. Soccer will be hosting its annual "Think Pink" day on Thursday, October 11th, while volleyball has planned a "Dig Pink" night for Wednesday, October 17th.
  • Hall of Fame Inductions Highlight 2012 Homecoming

    North Carolina Wesleyan celebrated its 2012 Homecoming on Saturday, and the day was full of notable highlights. A pair of USA South soccer wins coupled with Commissioner Rita Wiggs' halftime presentation at the Bishops' football game made for an exciting day, while the Department of Athletics annual Hall of Fame inductions capped off a memorable night in Rocky Mount.
  • Marks' Gamewinner Secures Split in USA South Play

    Senior Ashley Marks netted the eventual gamewinner to help lead her North Carolina Wesleyan women's soccer team to a 7-1 win over Mary Baldwin on Saturday at Scalf Field. A 6-0 loss to Christopher Newport on Sunday gave the Bishops a split in this weekend's league action.
  • Wesleyan Women Drop Pair of League Matches

    The women's soccer team of N.C. Wesleyan dropped a pair of league matches over the weekend, falling at Greensboro by a 3-0 score on Saturday and dropping a 6-2 decision at Averett on Sunday. Sophomore Rebecca Staylor had a hand in both Bishops goals, netting NCWC's first score at AU and assisting on the second.
  • Liette's Gamewinner Lifts NCWC Past Chowan, 3-2

    Freshman Nicole Liette headed home a Rebecca Staylor assist in the 61st minute for the eventual gamewinner as the N.C. Wesleyan women's soccer team secured a 3-2 victory over Chowan University on Sunday at Scalf Field.
  • Bishops Honor Local Heroes With 9/11 Passes

    September 11th is a time for remembering our fallen heroes from New York to Pennsylvania to Washington, D.C. It is also a time to recognize those local heroes that risk their lives daily to insure the safety of our Rocky Mount community. For this reason, the student-athletes of North Carolina Wesleyan annually honor our local policemen and firefighters by distributing season passes for all Battling Bishop sporting events.
  • Bishops, Owls Fight to 2-2 Women's Soccer Draw

    North Carolina Wesleyan and Warren Wilson fought to a 2-2 double-overtime draw in Sunday afternoon's women's soccer action at Scalf Field. Freshman Sarah Olsowski and sophomore Rebecca Staylor each netted goals for the Bishops, who now stand at 1-2-1 on the season.

    Sophomore Rebecca Staylor led her North Carolina Wesleyan women's soccer team to its first win of the 2012 season on Sunday, netting the golden goal in the Bishops' 2-1 overtime victory versus Spelman College in at Scalf Field.
  • USA South Releases 2012 Fall Sport Polls

    The USA South Athletic Conference has released is 2012 fall sport preseason coaches polls for volleyball and soccer. North Carolina Wesleyan received 4th-place billings in volleyball and men's soccer, while women's soccer was tabbed 10th.
  • Athletics Announces 2012 Hall of Fame Class

    Since 1999, North Carolina Wesleyan College has honored 51 former athletes, administrators, teams, coaches and contributors by enshrining them in its Athletics Hall of Fame. These individuals have created a higher standard for Battling Bishop athletics and were selected based on their outstanding accomplishments and/or contributions to the College. This year’s class meets these same standards and will comprise the 14th group of honorees. The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that Misty Carneal of women’s basketball, Jennifer Foreman of women’s soccer and Mark Silletti of baseball have been chosen to comprise its 2012 Hall of Fame class.
